Beaded JewelrY

Susan Parks was a Jewelry Major at MTSU, earning a BFA in 1979, with an emphasis in Jewelry Metalwork, Textiles, and Printmaking. Drawing was central to all. Later in 2000, Susan worked with Engibe Alvarez Walker and later, Wendy Ellsworth and others, to become skilled in the art of bead work. Often, she used fine jewelry skills with indigenous techniques from the Americas, studying textiles at the Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta, Canada, and also studied and used techniques used in other parts of the world. With a deep love of rocks and minerals, cabachons and gemstone beads are often included in her jewelry. Here are galleries of that work.
